Integrations Overview
What are Integrations?
Integrations connect Polaris AI to your favorite apps and services so you can control them through conversation. Instead of switching between apps, everything happens in one place.

How Connections Work
Step 1: Start Connection
In Dashboard → Settings → Integrations:

Click "Connect" for an app:
Polaris AI requests permission to:
- Read your emails
- Create calendar events
- Can you authorize?

View Connected Apps
In Dashboard → Settings → Apps Tab:
Gmail — Connected as john@gmail.com
Google Calendar — john@gmail.com
GitHub — john-smith (3 repositories)
Microsoft Outlook — Not connected

For each app:
- Connected = Connected and ready
- Connecting = Connecting or syncing
- Error = Disconnected or error
- Not Connected = Not connected yet
View Permissions
Click any app to see what permissions you granted:
Gmail permissions:
• Send emails on your behalf
• Read email messages
• Modify email labels
• Create drafts
These permissions can be revoked anytime in your Google Account.Connecting an Integration
Quick Steps
Open Settings
Click the Settings icon in the top left, then navigate to Integrations tab.
Find Your App
Look for the app you want to connect (Gmail, Calendar, GitHub, etc.).
Click Connect
Click the [Connect] button.
Authorize
Polaris AI redirects to the app. You confirm: "Do you want to authorize Polaris AI?"
Return & Use
Once authorized, you're back in Polaris AI and ready to use!
Google Apps
Click Google Apps
Select Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, or Forms.
Choose Google Account
If logged into multiple accounts, select which one to connect.
Review Permissions
Google asks: "Allow Polaris AI to access your account?"
Click Allow
Confirm the permissions.
Done
Connected to your Google account!
Microsoft 365
Click Microsoft
Select Outlook or other Microsoft services.
Login to Microsoft
Sign in with your Microsoft account.
Review Permissions
Microsoft asks which permissions to grant.
Click Accept
Authorize the permissions.
Done
Outlook, Teams, OneDrive connected!
GitHub
Click GitHub
Select "Connect GitHub".
Login to GitHub
Sign in with your GitHub account.
Authorize App
GitHub asks: "Authorize Polaris AI?"
Click Authorize
Confirm access to repositories.
Done

Using Connected Apps
Single-App Tasks
Once connected, use one app:
"Send an email to Sarah"
→ Uses Gmail
"Show me my calendar for today"
→ Uses Google Calendar
"Create a new spreadsheet"

Connect multiple apps for advanced workflows:
"Create a feedback form and email it to the team"

Connected apps sync in real-time:

Disconnect an Integration
Go to Settings
Click the Settings option in the menu, then navigate to Apps tab.
Find App
Locate the connected app.
Click Disconnect
Click the [Disconnect] button.
Confirm
Click "Yes, disconnect" to confirm.
Disconnected
The app is no longer connected.
Disconnecting stops Polaris AI from accessing that app. You'll need to reconnect to use it again.
What Happens When You Disconnect?
- Polaris AI can't access that app anymore
- Can't send emails, access calendar, etc.
- All your data stays in the app
- Your account isn't affected
- You can reconnect anytime
Permissions & Privacy
What Permissions Does Polaris AI Request?
Each integration requires specific permissions:
Gmail:
- Send emails
- Read mailbox
- Create & manage labels
- Create drafts
Google Calendar:
- View your calendar
- Create events
- Modify events
GitHub:
- Read repositories
- Create issues
- Manage your repositories
Outlook:
- Read/send emails
- Manage calendar
- Access OneDrive files
Who Sees Your Data?
- Only you can see what you do in Polaris AI
- Polaris AI doesn't store email contents
- No sharing with third parties
- Only metadata processed (sender, subject, date)
Revoking Permissions
You can revoke Polaris AI's access anytime:
Via Polaris AI:
- Settings → Apps → Disconnect
Via the App:
- Gmail: google.com/account/permissions
- GitHub: GitHub settings → Authorized apps
- Outlook: Microsoft account settings
Common Integration Questions
Q: Is it safe to connect my account?
A: Yes. Polaris AI uses industry-standard OAuth. You authorize exactly what Polaris AI can access. You can revoke anytime.
Q: What if Polaris AI gets hacked?
A: OAuth tokens don't give access to your passwords. Your services are protected.
Q: Can I use multiple accounts?
A: You can have one connection per service per Polaris AI account. Contact support for multiple workspace needs.
Q: Do all integrations work together?
A: Most do! Complex workflows may need specific app combinations. Polaris AI will guide you.
Q: What if an app needs reconnecting?
A: If connection drops, Polaris AI will ask you to reconnect. It's a 2-click process.
Troubleshooting Connections
Connection Failed
If connection fails:
- Check internet — Ensure you're online
- Logout first — Sign out of the service, then reconnect
- Clear cookies — Clear browser cookies for that site
- Try again — Attempt connection again
- Contact support — If still failing, reach out
Authorization Revoked
If Polaris AI loses access:
- Reconnect — Go to Settings → Apps → Reconnect
- Reauthorize — Grant permissions again
- Done — Should work immediately
Permissions Insufficient
If Polaris AI can't perform an action:
- Go to Settings → Apps → [Your app]
- Check permissions — See what's allowed
- Reconnect — Sometimes needs fresh authorization
- Verify settings — Check app settings allow this action
